2022 Holiday Tours at Laurel Hill Mansion

The 2022 Holiday Tours at Laurel Hill Mansion are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.,  Wednesday through Sunday, from December 1st through December 23rd.  After Christmas there will still be opportunities to see Laurel Hill Mansion dressed for the Holidays on Wednesday December 28th, Thursday, December 29th and Friday December 30th.



Steven Page will be playing the fortepiano on Saturday, December 10th from 1:00 P.M. to 1:45 P.M. in the historic octagonal music room of Laurel Hill Mansion. Don’t miss a rare opportunity to hear this English pianoforte from 1808 by Broadwood played.

Then at about 2:30 P.M. approximately 35 members of Philomusica Choral will stop by Laurel Hill Mansion to sing.

Steven Page is a graduate of the Creative Arts and Performing Arts High School and is a native of Philadelphia. He specializes in Gospel and R&B music, in addition to Classical and Jazz. He recently recorded the music of 19th century Philadelphia Black composer and musician Frances Johnson on Laurel Hill Mansion's fortepiano for an exhibit at the Museum of the American Revolution.

Philomusica Choral is a chorus from Chestnut Hill and Montgomery County who perform all types of choral music from all periods of music history. This a free event, with free parking, ( though donations are very much appreciated ) walk-in or get your free ticket on Eventbrite. Tickets

Admission for the holiday tours at Laurel Hill Mansion is “pay what you want” although a $5 donation is encouraged. Children under age 12 are always free.  Parking is also free.

Because of Covid-19 concerns, Laurel Hill Mansion was closed for the entire 2020 tourism season.

The 2019 Holiday theme was Philadelphia, City of neighborhoods

The names of the neighborhoods and streets we live in and on come to us from the Peoples and people who have lived in this place we call Philadelphia before us. We celebrate their traditions and their history as we create our own.

Tree mannequins were used as part of the Holiday decorations at Laurel Hill Mansion celebrating the 250 years since Rebeca Rawl built the house.

Holiday Candlelight Tour

Tour festively decorated Laurel Hill, Woodford, and Historic Strawberry Mansion on this exclusive tour lit softly by candlelight, evoking the past in a unique and lovely way. Friendly and knowledgeable guides share the rich and interesting history of Fairmount Park and the life of the residents who called each of these magnificent buildings home. The tour concludes with assorted hors-d’oeuvres and desserts at Historic Strawberry Mansion. Transportation to each house is included on a private trolley car. Pick up is at Lloyd Hall (1 Boathouse Row, Philadelphia, PA 19130) at 5:30 pm.

12 days of Christmas holiday decoration at Laurel Hill Mansion Philadelphia PA

The Twelve Days of Christmaswas the 2015 theme for the holiday decorations of the historic houses of Fairmount Park.


There were demonstrations of the spinning of fibers into yarn on a spinning, music and volunteers in period costumes. will be on hand to give tours


The beautiful 2015 Christmas Tree at Laurel Hill Mansion was donated by Bustard Tree Farm who also supplied the tree for the White House this year

The Charms of Yesteryear was our 2014 theme for the historic houses of Fairmount Park holiday tours Chamber music, the sounds of the holidays on our historic fortepiano, marvelous decorations created by the Community Garden Club at Wayne including a live 14 ft. Frazier fur Christmas tree were featured at Laurel Hill Mansion during the 2014 holiday season. Complimentary tea was served costumed guides. Gingerbread men and women prepared by the Culinary Arts Institute of Montgomery County Community College were be for sale and will be again during the 2015 holiday tours.
