Join Keith Leitner on location at Philadelphia's historic Fairmount Park mansions including Laurel Hill Mansion, Ormiston Mansion, Woodford Mansion, and Strawberry Mansion and more! Built in the 18th century, these houses feature amazing architecture, beautiful gardens, and scenic views. The instructor will demonstrate watercolor and pastel techniques, reference art historical examples and encourage personal expression. He will also give a history of each location. Instruction will be geared to watercolor, but experienced oil/acrylic painters are welcome. Restrooms and free parking will be available.

Keith Leitner is a member of the Cerulean Arts Collective. He holds an MFA from PAFA and a BA in Urban Studies from Temple University. He embraces the quiet two-dimensional artwork as a respite from a world saturated with digital noise. As a teacher, he believes that in order to achieve your creative potential, a thorough understanding of your chosen medium is necessary. He also teaches at Perkins Center for the Arts and PAFA.

two-day workshop, October 2022. Built in 1767, and nestled along the
scenic Schuylkill River in Fairmount Park, Laurel Hill has a prominent location
on a high bluff with a commanding view of the river. Joe Sweeney painted
along with the participants in these idyllic and historic surroundings,
guiding them through color mixing to capture the tonal quality and character
of the time of day, compositional fundamentals, and sound painting practices.
